| Welcome to Spring Renewal's Distance Learning Center In response to requests from potential students across the country, the Spring Renewal Distance Learning Center was created. Whether you need continuing education credits, want to explore new areas of interest, or just want to have fun, you will find the coursework informative, interesting and fun. To enroll, students must be at least 16 years of age and have completed ninth grade. Because money is involved, we require parental consent for students under 18 years old. Our current distance learning courses are: Aromatherapy, Herbology, and Homeopathy. These three classes are part of Spring Renewal's state licensed program for Massage and Holistic Studies and certificates will be awarded upon completion. The programs are licensed by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth. We are in the process of registering these classes for Continuing Education Credits with the National Certification Board for Massage and Bodywork therapies. We will advise via this website when that approval is obtained. Note: Herbology and Homeopathy as distance learning courses are currently under construction and will be available soon. Financial Wellness: A Simple Approach will be offered soon. It is an enrichment course only and no certificate will be awarded. Current Courses: Aromatherapy Home Study Course Objectives: To gain an understanding of the history of essential oils, how they are produced, how they work in and on the body, the issue of natural vs. synthetic, and the use of many well known oils, including blending. Outline: The course will consist of 25 lessons to be completed in order. Each of the first 24 lessons will include a reading assignment, a project and a quiz. Lesson 25 will be a final exam and project. No prior experience with aromatherapy is needed to enroll. The course is self-paced, however, it is expected that the student will complete the course within approximately six months if one lesson is completed each week. Students may submit their coursework by email or regular mail. Cost and Material: Everything needed for the assignments and projects is included in the Aromatherapy Kit that will be shipped to each student. The cost is $395.00 Included in the Aromatherapy Kit: A text/reference book and a variety of essential oils, lotions, carrier oils, beeswax, containers, etc., which will be used for creating blends and formulas.
